The Department of War released a third batch of declassified and historical files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena on Friday as part of the Trump administration’s continuing UFO transparency effort.
The files are part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as PURSUE, and are housed on WAR.GOV/UFO.
The latest release follows the Department of War’s May 8 launch of the PURSUE portal, when the first UFO files began going public under President Donald Trump’s disclosure order, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Public Interest Surges
The Department of War said WAR.GOV/UFO has received more than 1.7 billion hits worldwide since the site launched on May 8.
“Today, the Department of War is publishing the third release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE),” Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said in a June 12 statement.
Parnell said the collection will remain on WAR.GOV/UFO and that additional files will come out on a rolling basis.
“The Department of War and our agency partners are actively working on the next release of UAP files,” Parnell said.
What The Files Mean
The Department of War describes the portal as part of a government-wide effort to identify, review, declassify, and publicly release unresolved UAP-related records and historical documents in the federal government’s possession.
The portal does not state that the files prove the existence of extraterrestrial life. Instead, it presents the material as unresolved UAP records that have been released for public review.
The Department of War said the effort involves coordination with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and other agency partners.
The release comes as public interest in UFO and UAP records continues to grow. The Department of War said the Trump administration’s transparency effort has drawn “unprecedented levels of interest” since the portal went live.
