Good Manners for Kids Involves Appreciating Mom on Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day Tips

As you plan for this weekend, if possible, include time for a family gathering to celebrate your mom and grandmother.

  • Remember mom with flowers; this is a tradition and a popular choice. Roses or carnations are perfect and do not signal last-minute panic at the supermarket checkout. They should be presented by a florist or arranged in a vase, in person.
  • Take the time to write your mom a note. Mother’s Day cards are in abundance. Write a personal note because Mother’s Day is all about your unique relationship with your mother and grandmother. You must think of personal ways to show your appreciation.
  • Ensure that all children are involved in the celebration. Encourage them to make a card and read the card to their mom or grandmother.
  • Purchase a gift that shows you are paying attention to her interests. If your mom is a runner, you might want to purchase running shoes. Pay attention! Attention to the likes of others shows your heartfelt intentions and will be well-received.
  • If you live far away from your mom, remember – an email, text message or letter is an unacceptable Mother’s Day greeting. You must call your mom. Plus, Amazon can deliver gifts or flowers in one day.

Basics of Mother’s Day Civility

These basics may not be convenient or always fit into your busy schedule. However, they offer a wonderful way to appreciate the blessing your mother is and has been to you.

  • Stand when your grandmother, mom, or wife walks into the room.
  • Always be situationally aware of elderly people or children who may need help.
  • Focus on the good of your mom, grandmother, and the mother of your children.
  • If you had a mom who prayed, give Thanks to God.
  • Prioritize giving a Mother’s Day gift. This can include flowers and a handwritten note.
  • Offer to attend church with your mom.
  • If you do not have a mom, find someone who has influenced your life in a meaningful way and appreciate her.
  • Remember, this is a day to honor.
  • Sit down and write out 10 things your mother did for you.
  • Pray for your mom daily.
