Key policies include imposing tariffs to protect American manufacturing from unfair foreign competition and to encourage job creation within the country. Additionally, the administration aims to secure trade deals that generate hundreds of billions of dollars for the nation, cut taxes for workers and businesses, and reduce costs and regulations to spur industry growth.
Last year, the President signed an executive order aimed at modernizing workforce programs. This order expanded apprenticeships into new industries and set a goal to surpass 1 million active Registered Apprenticeships.
The administration also seeks to align apprenticeships with technological advancements. The President directed the Department of Labor to increase participation in Registered Apprenticeship programs related to artificial intelligence and nuclear energy, ensuring that the nation remains a leader in innovation.
These initiatives are designed to equip workers with skills for critical industries, including construction, manufacturing, energy, and emerging technologies. They aim to enhance access to stable, high-paying jobs, increase wages, and provide career paths outside of traditional college degrees.
Over the past year, approximately 300,000 Americans started apprenticeships, thereby strengthening the workforce in anticipation of upcoming industrial and innovative surges.
The administration pledged to promote opportunity, innovation, and strength, ensuring that every citizen is equipped for success as part of the world’s top workforce.
