A prominent Plano-based commercial development firm with several high-end office properties in North Texas is set to undergo a major leadership change at the start of 2024.

Granite Properties has named Will Hendrickson, the firm’s senior managing director and Dallas market leader, its newest chief executive officer. Hendrickson will replace Granite’s current CEO and founding partner Michael Dardick, who will transition from his long tenure as CEO to become the company’s executive chairman.

Both Hendrickson and Dardick will begin their new roles effective January 1, 2024.

“I look forward to working with our talented team to continue delivering the highest quality office space to our customers and creating value with our partners,” Hendrickson said in an October 9 news release provided to The Dallas Express.

Hendrickson has had a storied career with Granite Properties, having served as the company’s investment analyst from 2003-2017 and its senior managing director overseeing Dallas-area operations from 2017 onward.

“Will is a trusted leader and the right person to effectively guide Granite forward,” said Dardick. “He has a proven record of growing our Dallas platform and brings a breadth of skillsets important to Granite’s future. Elevating and realigning our leadership team with Will at the helm is the key to our continued success for the next 30+ years,” he said.

During his time as senior managing director, Hendrickson oversaw the development of several new office properties throughout Plano and Dallas. These office buildings include the 19-story Granite Park 6 tower in West Plano and the forthcoming 26-story 23Springs tower in Uptown Dallas, which is scheduled to open in 2025.

Granite Properties is quickly becoming one of the nation’s leading commercial investment, development, and management firms. Since its founding by Dardick and the Schusterman family in 1991, the company has completed more than $8 billion in real estate transactions and nearly 30 million square feet of development and acquisitions.

The company currently owns over 11 million square feet of high-quality office space in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Southern California, and Nashville.

“I’m excited about my new role as Executive Chairman,” Dardick said. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together navigating the ever-evolving real estate industry while always putting the experience of our customers first.”

Other upcoming leadership changes include Granite’s chief investment officer Bill Brown transitioning to president; senior director of investments Paul Bennett becoming the new senior managing director and the Dallas market leader; and senior managing director and the Southern California market leader Jason Purvis becoming head of capital raising.

Granite’s chief operating officer Greg Fuller, executive managing director Scott Martin, and chief administrative officer Sheryl Troiani will each retain their current positions.
