Trump Presses Regional Leaders To Join Abraham Accords As Iran Talks Advance

President Donald Trump said Monday that any agreement with Iran should include a broader push for regional and Muslim-majority countries to join the Abraham Accords, tying the negotiations to the diplomatic framework he launched during his first administration.

“Negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are proceeding nicely!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all.”

Trump said he discussed the issue Saturday with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. The UAE and Bahrain already signed the accords in 2020.

The President said that, after U.S. work on the regional talks, “it should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords.”

Trump named Saudi Arabia and Qatar as the first countries he wants to see move.

“It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit,” Trump wrote. “If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal in that it shows bad intention.”

The Abraham Accords normalized relations between Israel and several countries during Trump’s first term. The UAE and Bahrain signed in 2020, and Morocco and Sudan later followed. Kazakhstan joined in 2025, AP reported.

The push would mark a major expansion of the framework and could fold Israel normalization into talks that have centered on ending the conflict with Iran and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Trump recently postponed a planned strike on Iran after Gulf leaders urged Washington to allow negotiations to continue.

Trump also left open the possibility that Iran could eventually join the Abraham Accords if Tehran reaches an agreement with Washington.

“If Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition,” Trump wrote.

It remains unclear how Abraham Accords membership would fit into a final Iran agreement, or whether all of the countries Trump named would agree. Pakistan rejected the idea, while Israel and the other countries had not publicly responded to Trump’s request as of Monday, Reuters reported.

Saudi Arabia has previously linked potential normalization with Israel to progress toward Palestinian statehood, Reuters reported. Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey already have diplomatic relations with Israel, though those ties have faced strain during the Gaza war.

Trump ended his post by directing U.S. representatives to begin adding countries to the accords.

“By copy of this TRUTH, I am asking my Representatives to begin, and successfully complete, the process of signing these Countries into the already Historic Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote.
