The Texas Rangers and the Frisco RoughRiders continued their respective series on Wednesday, while FC Dallas resumed its season.

Here is what happened on the field and behind the scenes.

MLB

Texas Rangers (26-17, first in American League West)

Last Game: Atlanta Braves 6, Rangers 5

Adolis Garcia homered twice, but it was not enough for the Rangers to pull out the win. Atlanta tied the game at five with two runs in the top of the eighth inning, then Atlanta’s Orlando Arcia hit the game-winning home run with one out in the ninth. The Rangers were retired in order in the bottom of the inning to end the game.

Noteworthy: The Rangers lose the series 2-1 but hold onto a two-game lead over the Houston Astros in the AL West.

— Jonah Heim’s 14-game hitting streak ended as he went 0-2 with a run scored.

— A two-run home run by Atlanta’s Eddie Rosario in the second inning snapped a 29.2 scoreless inning streak for Rangers’ starter Nathan Eovaldi, tying Jeff Zimmerman for the fifth-longest scoreless streak by a Rangers’ pitcher.

— Shortstop Corey Seager returned to the Texas lineup after missing 31 games with a strained hamstring. He went 0-3 with an RBI as the designated hitter.

Next Up: Colorado Rockies (19-25) at Rangers, 7:05 p.m. CT Friday

First baseman Nick Tanielu homered twice and had three RBIs in the inning, while Evan Carter, Thomas Saggese, and Dustin Harris all drove in runs. Starting pitcher Jack Leiter earned his second win of the season, allowing three runs and striking out 10 through six innings.

Noteworthy: The RoughRiders have won two games in a row after dropping seven straight and are now 6-5 against the Sod Poodles this season.

— Leiter is 2-1 in his last three starts and has allowed just four earned runs this month.

— Frisco is 3-1 in games decided by six runs this season.
