Fort Worth Country Day swim star Reese Nelson is headed to Washington and Lee University in Virginia as his next stop.

“I’m honored to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Washington and Lee University,” Nelson posted on SwimCloud.com. “W&L checks all the boxes for me — outstanding academics, fantastic campus and culture, and an amazing swim program and coaching staff who made me feel right at home from day one.”

All around him, Nelson was feeling the love as he committed to Washington and Lee for the next four years.

“I would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to my family, friends, teachers, coaches, and teammates who have all helped shape who I am and who have made it possible for me to flourish at the next level,” he said. “I can’t wait to be a General.”

School officials recently feted Nelson during a ceremony where three other student-athletes also made their intentions known.

“Congratulations to our four Falcons taking their sport to the next level,” the school posted on Facebook. We are excited to cheer you on.
