“Congratulations to our four Falcons taking their sport to the next level, Laney Bagwell, Crew, Colby College; Henry Lynn, Cross Country and Track and Field, University of Chicago; Reese Nelson, Swimming, Washington and Lee University and Ileana Rodriguez, Field Hockey, Haverford College,” members of the Fort Worth Country Day alumni posted on Facebook. “We are excited to cheer you on.”

A 4’ 11” midfielder, Rodriguez is known as a late bloomer. She had never played the sport prior to arriving at Country Day as an eighth-grader and missed her entire sophomore season due to injury.

“I have played at FWCD for three years, and I’m part of the Lone Star club team,” Rodriguez told Falconquil.com. “I’m so glad that I came to Fort Worth Country Day and started playing when I did because not only would I have missed out on such fun times with my friends playing sports, but I also wouldn’t be going to college for field hockey.”
