A sprawling Hill Country ranch just hit the market for almost $9 million.

Nestled amidst vineyard country about an hour outside Austin sits The Lonesome Valley Ranch, a spacious 260-acre property that recently went on sale for $8.75 million.

Located at 1430 Gibson Best Road in Hye, Texas, Lonesome Valley is a captivating and tranquil ranch offering stunning views, privacy, and a host of amenities, including an NBA-sized basketball court, tennis and pickleball courts, and a 1-acre pond (with a liner) for swimming and fishing.

The ranch’s main house is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom, single-story retreat situated at the end of a short paved road off of Highway 290.

Just beyond the main house is a charming three-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin overlooking the pond, a 40-foot pier, and a fountain. Both the home and the cabin contain outdoor living areas with wrap-around porches that provide panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country.

In addition, the property also includes a two-story bunkhouse and saloon with three bathrooms and three bedrooms, including a large bunkroom with 10 bunk beds. A caretaker residence and an equipment barn can also be found on the property.

With enough space to accommodate large gatherings or events, the property is considered an “entertainer’s dream,” according to a property overview by Dave Murray, the ranch’s owner and a broker associate with DMTX Realty Group, the real estate firm marketing the ranch.

“This is my personal ranch, which I built to serve as a family legacy ranch,” Murray told The Dallas Express. “I was drawn to this property because of its amazing trees, views, and the potential of the water features I created. We constructed a family compound that is entirely off-grid and capable of hosting large family gatherings and company events.”

“It took years to perfect what I envisioned, and I only decided to sell it when I came across a much larger ranch that was too good to pass up,” Murray explained.

To facilitate off-the-grid living, the ranch has extensive solar power systems, several backup generators, 100,000 gallons of rainwater collection, a propane capacity of 4,000 gallons, a high-fenced garden, wood-burning stoves, and an underground electricity line that connects to the main compound.

“This presents an incredible opportunity for someone who desires a fully turnkey ranch in an A+ location, offered at a price significantly lower than the cost of replication,” Murray said.
