Ethos Commercial Advisors LLC is opening its first operation outside the Pacific Northwest with a new office planned in Dallas.

The Portland-based commercial real estate advisory firm focuses on tenant representation, agency leasing, investment sales, and asset allocation. According to the company, “Ethos’ expert advisors think like principals to design and implement customized real estate solutions for their clients’ commercial real estate challenges.”

Camden Muller, director at Ethos, said he is “both thrilled and grateful” to help co-lead the new Dallas office along with Devin Kopas, senior managing director.

For his part, Kopas said he is “excited to bring the Ethos level of client service and commitment to the Dallas market.”

The news of the expansion to Dallas follows another prominent addition to the city. Earlier this month, it was reported that the real estate investment firm Menashe Properties will open a satellite office in Dallas. Chief executive Jordan Menashe and his family will move to the city as part of the new office opening.

Menashe initially told the Portland Business Journal that his move was partly motivated by the deteriorating safety conditions in his current hometown of Portland. However, he later clarified, saying the opportunity for growth in Dallas was the driving factor.

While the latest expansions into Dallas are a positive sign, the industry has been challenged in recent months. In early February, The Dallas Express reported that commercial values were plummeting across North Texas, driven by elevated interest rates and softening demand.

Still, the metroplex does enjoy some favorable tailwinds. DFW was ranked as the seventh-best metro area for office jobs, a factor that favors the commercial real estate market.

Ethos was started in 2017. Last year, its six Portland-area brokers handled nearly $354 million in commercial loans in the Pacific Northwest.
