A Texas mom is searching for her daughter, who has been missing since early December. Noemy Brinson traveled almost 1,500 miles from Longview, Texas, to Bronx, New York, in hopes of finding her 31-year-old daughter, Dulce Lopez.

According to her mother, Lopez was living in a basement apartment with her boyfriend in the Bronx when things began to go wrong shortly after Thanksgiving.

Brinson said, “I know she was under a lot of stress. Then her mind just [broke] down.”

Residents of the borough reached out to Brinson via Facebook after learning about Lopez’s disappearance from a missing person’s flyer posted on the Citizen app.

One resident told Brinson her daughter sat outside a market called the K&M Mini Mart on Bainbridge Avenue and East 207th Street, telling people her name was Beyoncé.

Brinson arrived in New York on December 19, hoping to locate her daughter, but she has not had any promising leads.

“There’s flyers everywhere. There’s flyers, but nobody calls. Nobody says anything,” said Brinson.

Brinson was able to acquire surveillance from the mini-mart from a detective working on the case. It displayed Lopez first appearing on Bainbridge Avenue around December 16.

Other residents who encountered Lopez were Christina and Maritza, who did not give their last names when they spoke to PIX11 News. The women said Lopez told them everything went downhill once she moved to the Bronx from Texas. She said she was “never like this.” They also added how she did not look like she belonged on the streets.

Christina told PIX11 News, “She said she rides the trains to get out from the streets. She has nowhere to sleep, she was in shelters, and just basically was riding trains.”

Brinson and her other daughter, Darlene Lopez, said that Dulce had issues with her mental health.

Darlene revealed that her sister had experienced manic depressive episodes while still living in Texas. “She had one maybe a year or two ago,” said Darlene.

More than anything, a heartbroken Brinson wants her daughter to return. She said she would say to her, “We’re here to help you.”

Lopez is described as Hispanic, approximately 5’5″ tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes and long black hair.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1–800–577–TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1–888–57–PISTA (74782).
