The National Pro-Life Summit was held on Saturday in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the March for Life and several other anti-abortion events.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and former Vice President Mike Pence were among the featured speakers to address Students for Life, a coalition of like-minded young Americans seeking broader restrictions on abortion who hosted the National Pro-Life Summit this year.

“Thank you [Students for Life] for having me at your National Summit this morning,” Roy posted on X. “Your hard work and dedication to promoting a culture of life in America is inspiring. Stay the course!”

The Pro-Life Summit brings together activists and leaders to brainstorm and collaborate on effective techniques and messaging to help advance anti-abortion causes. Activists aim to reverse a trend of younger Americans forming more left-wing beliefs about abortion in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in June 2022. Texas has emerged as a leader in the anti-abortion movement and quickly established laws that effectively ban most abortions in the state.

The Summit coincided with the 51st March For Life held in snowy conditions at the National Capitol on Friday, which The Dallas Express attended. Several thousand people were present at the march, the second held since the overturning of the landmark legal ruling that had previously prevented states from banning abortion.

Pence has been an outspoken supporter of the anti-abortion movement for decades and made the issue a cornerstone of his brief attempt at seeking the presidential nomination this year.

“What an honor to be at the [Students for Life] National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, DC!” Pence posted on X. “I’m so inspired by this next generation unapologetically standing up for Life!

“In this rapidly changing post-Roe America, our job remains the same: to do all we can to restore a culture of life, and to return the sanctity of life to the center of American law. I believe that if we save the babies, we will save America!” Pence added.

“Leaders like Mike Pence, Bob Good, and Chip Roy are critical to rebuilding a culture of life, not just with words, but in lifetimes of service. The policy these three have worked to pass has saved lives, and the Pro-Life Generation can’t [wait] to see where they are headed next in defense of the innocent,” Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins said.
