ABC Trading recalled about 84,700 children’s toys and 2,900 LED light-up shot glasses after federal safety officials said children could access the products’ small batteries, creating a risk of serious injury or death if swallowed.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced both recalls on May 21. CPSC said it had not received injury reports connected to either recall.

Toys Sold Nationwide

The toy recall covers toy headbands, Electronic Pet Cage-Dinosaur Tribes, and My Pet Bird Cute Bird Tribes products.

CPSC said the toys violate the mandatory toy safety standard because they contain button cell batteries in compartments that children can easily access. When swallowed, button cell or coin batteries can cause internal chemical burns, serious injuries, and death, the agency said.

From 2011 through 2021, CPSC counted 27 deaths and estimated emergency rooms treated 54,300 injuries tied to ingested or inserted button cell or coin batteries.

TOYZ and Joissu Product stores sold the toys nationwide from November 2022 through October 2025 for $5 to $9. ABC Trading imported the China-made products.

Shot Glasses Also Recalled

ABC Trading also recalled WSDZ-branded LED shot glasses because children can easily access the button cell batteries inside them.

CPSC said the shot glasses also lack warnings required under Reese’s Law. The clear plastic glasses use three button cell batteries underneath the glass to power LED lights.

The glasses came individually and in packs of 24. A label on the underside reads “ITEM NO: LP-024 (122)” and “Importer: ABC Trading, Inc.”

Starzzone, Igiftsinc, and other gift stores nationwide sold the shot glasses from March 2024 through October 2025 for $6 to $10.

What Consumers Should Do

CPSC urged consumers to stop using the recalled toys and glasses immediately.

Consumers should throw away the recalled products, take a photo of the discarded items in the trash, and email the photo to [email protected] to receive a refund.

For the shot glasses, consumers should keep the products away from children and properly dispose of the batteries before throwing the glasses away.

Consumers can also contact ABC Trading at 323-581-3688 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.
