Frisco City Council candidate Sreekanth Reddy is facing questions over past and more recent apparent connections to the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation. This Texas-based Hindu organization has drawn criticism over its rhetoric and activities.

The Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (GHHF) was criticized in 2022 by Christian and interfaith leaders who accused it of anti-Christian activity, according to The Christian Post.

In 2022, the Federation of Indian American Christian Organizations in North America and other Christian leaders accused GHHF of raising money tied to church-demolition efforts and “Ghar Vapsi,” which The Christian Post described as the forced religious conversion of Christians and Muslims to Hinduism and Sikhism.

“Our objective is to protect, preserve, promote, and maintain Hindu culture, Hindu temples, mutts, peethams, endowments, trusts and other institutions globally,” GHHF states on its website.

A post on GHHF’s website in October 2022 said the group had pressured officials in Tirupati to “demolish churches as per law” and later asked donors to help hire more people to do “Ghar Waapasi.”

In that same 2022 post, the organization questioned the presence of churches in Tirupati, writing, “Do you think Macca would allow Hindu Temple to be built in the premises of the city? Then why would Tirupati allow these churches to be built illegally in the most sacred city for Hindus?”

Reddy, who is running for Frisco City Council Place 5, drew scrutiny after his phone number appeared in GHHF materials under the name “Konda Srikanth” in a section labeled “GHHF Dallas Core Group.” The same number appears on his January 2026 campaign treasurer appointment filing.

When reached by phone and text, Reddy denied any ongoing involvement with the organization and acknowledged the phone number listed in the GHHF material was his.

“I was not part of that organization after 2015. I never even attended any of their events. If you can bring me a document that tells me after 2015, let me know,” Reddy told The Dallas Express.

Reddy said GHHF listed his number without his permission.

“So yeah, the, I mean, I did not ask him to put my number there, but he voluntarily did it by himself,” Reddy told The Dallas Express. “I never asked him, I’m not a registered volunteer with GHHF at all.”

In later text messages to The Dallas Express, Reddy added, “Even before 2015 I was not a registered member of GHHF. Just participated some events.”

A separate October 20, 2025, post on GHHF’s website identified “Srikant Konda Reddy” as helping organize a Diwali event in Frisco that GHHF President Prakasarao Velagapudi attended.

Reddy disputed that the event showed any current tie to GHHF, texting The Dallas Express, “That wasn’t a GHHF event he attended the Richwoods Diwali party. No way GHHF is related to this event. It was our community event where his visit was casual…”

When asked whether he disapproved of the organization’s actions, Reddy responded, “I disapprove that.” He later added, “I do not approve any of the president’s actions of GHHF president’s actions because that’s his own.”

The Dallas Express reached out to the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation for comment, but did not receive a response.
