A North Texas elementary school principal, a teacher, and several aides have been removed from their positions as part of a multi-agency investigation into alleged misconduct, officials with Forney Independent School District said.
In a message sent to families, district leaders said the inquiry centers on allegations involving a teacher at Crosby Elementary School.
According to the district, the teacher was removed from the classroom immediately after the claims were reported. Several aides were removed within 48 hours, and the campus principal is no longer employed.
District officials stated that none of the individuals involved will return.
“We want to make you aware that allegations have been made regarding misconduct by a teacher,” the district said in its statement to families, Fox 4 KDFW reported. “Please be assured that Forney ISD sets high standards for our educators, and the conduct described in these allegations is completely unacceptable and does not meet the standards we set for our staff.”
The district said it promptly notified law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and the Texas Education Agency, and is cooperating with those agencies as the investigation continues.
Officials said the teacher at the center of the allegations was hired in October 2025 after passing background checks, including fingerprint screenings conducted by the Department of Public Safety and the FBI, and held a valid certification through the State Board of Education. However, during the investigation, the district learned the teacher had legally changed his name prior to being hired.
Under a previous name, the individual had faced criminal charges but was acquitted, according to the district. Officials said they were unaware of any prior concerns because the background checks were conducted under the teacher’s current legal name.
“Because this involves an active investigation and out of respect for federal student and staff privacy laws, we are prohibited from sharing specific details regarding the individuals involved,” the district said.
Authorities have contacted families believed to be directly affected. District officials are asking anyone with additional information to contact Child Protective Services or law enforcement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
