Florida franchise concept Kahwa Coffee Roasters plans to open a location this year in Fort Worth, according to a state filing.

The project on West Magnolia Avenue has an estimated construction cost of $50,500 and an anticipated delivery date of March 29. The filing lists Arlington-based LBL Architects as the design firm.

All 14 of Kahwa’s stores are in Florida, according to its website. A Kahwa spokesperson did not immediately return a message seeking comment about the Fort Worth location.

Founded in 2006 in St. Petersburg, the company uses Arabica beans from around the world.

“These beans are then blended and skillfully roasted to produce a complex flavor that allows each origin to yield its most distinct palate,” the website reads. “Each blend is roasted and packaged on demand to guarantee quality and freshness.”

In 2008, Kahwa’s success in the wholesale market “skyrocketed” after French chef Paul Bocuse chose the Kahwa brand for his restaurant Les Chefs de France.

“That same year, Kahwa’s first retail cafe opened in downtown St. Pete with the goal to create an environment with personalized customer service and a community meeting place where all walks of life can come to socialize. Today … Kahwa is dedicated to expanding its customer base while still maintaining the greatest quality of the product and an exceptional customer service experience.”

The Kahwa menu includes several iced drinks, including Chai Latte, Caffe Mocha, Americano, Cappuccino, and Nitro, and offers hot drinks such as Espresso, Cafe Au Lait, Matcha Latte, Espresso Macchiato, and other drinks. The coffee shop also sells pastries and breakfast.
