North Carolina franchise concept Bojangles plans to open another location in North Texas by November.

According to a state filing, the project involves the construction of a 3,170-square-foot space at 1937 Airport Fwy. in Bedford. The estimated construction cost is $1 million, and the anticipated completion date is October 7.

Arkansas-based HFA is listed as the design firm on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

The Dallas Express reported in January that Bojangles is also opening a restaurant in Burleson at Southwest Freeway and McAlister Road.

Bojangles, headquartered in Charlotte, operates more than 800 restaurants in the U.S., including seven in Dallas-Fort Worth. The company was founded in 1977 by Richard Thomas and Jack Fulk when Bojangles opened as a fast-food eatery. After opening their first location in Charlotte, the men added their popular chicken biscuits to the menu.

The company announced in October that it’s donating more than $563,000 to Folds of Honor for scholarships to families of disabled or fallen service members and first responders.

“While we are proud of our donation … there is no way we can adequately express our gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans and first responders and their families have made,” Ken Reynolds, executive director of the Bojangles Foundation, said in a news release.

Since its founding in 2007 by Lt. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot and PGA golfer, Folds of Honor has awarded about $160 million in scholarships across the country.

“Thanks to friends like Bojangles, Folds of Honor continues to serve the families of those who protect our country and communities,” said Ben Leslie, the non-profit’s Chief Development Officer, in the news release.
