By the end of the year, Bojangles is expected to have opened its eighth store in Texas — this time in Burleson.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing shows the estimated cost of construction for the 3,170-square-foot space at Southwest Freeway and McAlister Road is $1 million. It has an anticipated delivery date of October 31.
Headquartered in Charlotte, Bojangles operates 822 restaurants in the U.S., including seven in Frisco, Euless, Richmond, Little Elm, Lancaster, San Antonio, and Wylie. More than half of its stores are in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Founded in 1977 by Richard Thomas and Jack Fulk, Bojangles began as a quick-service restaurant that focused on flavor profiles, products made from scratch, and “fun” dining. After opening their first store in Charlotte, the duo added their “mouth-watering Southern-style chicken biscuit” to the menu.
Today, the popular biscuit is joined on the menu by chicken sandwiches, boneless chicken, family meals, chicken dinners, eight side items, and desserts.
In October, the company announced that it would be donating $563,311 to Folds of Honor, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing academic scholarships to families of fallen or disabled service members and first responders.
“While we are proud of our donation to Folds of Honor, there is no way we can adequately express our gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans and first responders and their families have made,” said Ken Reynolds, executive director of the Bojangles Foundation, in a press release.
“It’s clear our customers feel the same way based on the proceeds we were able to raise. We are thrilled to serve as a conduit for this amazing organization that is truly making a difference in the lives of our communities’ heroes.”
HFA of Bentonville, Arkansas, is listed as the design firm on the state filing.
