A new list of the top 100 restaurants nationwide includes just one from Dallas: Hudson House.

Hudson House, which operates six locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, was ranked as one of the top 100 restaurants in America for 2024, according to restaurant reservation website OpenTable. Notably, the list was compiled by analyzing 14 million verified reviews on the website between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024.

“Some lists are decided by critics, but not OpenTable’s Top 100 — this one is driven by diners. See this year’s top ranked spots based on insights and reviews from verified OpenTable users just like you,” reads the annual list’s description.

OpenTable did not provide a ranking for the top 100, listing them simply by alphabetical order. Hudson House, known for its oysters that are flown in Daily and the “World’s Coldest Martinis,” enjoys a 4.8-star rating on OpenTable, with over 700 user comments.

“Had a wonderful lunch at Hudson House.  We enjoyed a platter of mixed raw oysters with caviar and a bottle of our fave wine, Sancerre. Andreas guided our selection of oysters and a few other items. He was attentive and charming.  Too bad we live in another state or we’d be regulars,” wrote one commenter from Springfield, Ohio.

Hudson House was opened in 2017 and specializes in high-end seafood, cheeseburgers, and martinis. The chain was co-founded by East Hampton Sandwich Company business partners Kyle Brooks and Hunter Pond, the latter of which was involved in an ugly discrimination lawsuit a few years back, as previously detailed in The Dallas Express.

“To represent Dallas-Fort Worth and be part of such an esteemed group of restaurants is a testament to our team’s passion and dedication… We’re grateful to our loyal guests who have made this recognition possible,” Pond said in a statement, per Culture Map Dallas.

In total, the Lone Star State netted 10 spots on the top 100 list. Austin had the most, with seven establishments highlighted, and San Antonio and Houston, like Dallas, each had one.
