The most recent Powerball drawing yielded multiple new millionaires but no jackpot winners.

Powerball’s latest jackpot has risen to over $1 billion since the latest drawing. The estimated grand prize winnings are currently the second-largest this year and the fourth-largest in the history of the game.

Powerball held its last drawing in the evening hours of September 30. The winning numbers that night were 19, 30, 37, 44, and 46, with a Powerball of 22 and Power Play of 2x.

Yet no one clinched the top prize, with the jackpot at an estimated $969 million and a cash value of $445.4 million. Instead, the drawing yielded over 2 million winners of lesser prizes, with several taking home some not-too-shabby winnings.

For instance, 55 other players had also won $55,000, while nine others won $100,000.

Better still, some winners hailing from across the country became millionaires. There were five Match 5 winners in Florida, Maryland, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, who each won $1 million. Two Match 5 Power Play winners in Indiana and North Carolina each won $2 million.

But an ultimate winner has yet to stop the Powerball grand prize’s upward ascent.

As covered in The Dallas Express, the jackpot has been steadily climbing for some weeks now. Last week it hit an estimated $835 million after another drawing with no grand prize winner on September 25.

That sum has now swelled to over $1 billion, as Powerball announced on October 1. The cash value of the winnings is now nearly $480 million.

“If a player wins the jackpot on Monday night, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize worth an estimated $1.04 million or a lump sum payment estimated at $478.2 million. Both prize options are before taxes,” said Powerball on its website. “If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.”

The next drawing will be held on October 2 at 9:59 p.m. CT.
