Members who join Krispy Kreme’s refreshed rewards program can snag a dozen glazed donuts free of charge this month.

Sadly, existing rewards members can no longer claim the free dozen, which ended for them at the end of last month. However, for those new to the donut chain’s reward program, you have until May 11 to lock down a box for free.

The latest promotion comes amid the chain’s updated points system, which it calls the “most generous rewards program in the history of donuts.”

Under the new Krispy Kreme Rewards, members receive 10 points for every dollar they spend. The points can then be redeemed for items off the menu. A coffee, for example, might run you 150-250 points, while a dozen assorted donuts might require 1,700 points.

Fortunately, existing members will retain their points when they log into the new system.

Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s Global Chief Brand Officer, says the donut chain is making it easier for customers to obtain more generous rewards.

“We take a lot of pride in being generous to all our guests, and that’s not changing. By becoming a Krispy Kreme Rewards member, you’ll experience even more sweetness,” Skena was quoted as saying in a statement released by the company.

Earlier this year, The Dallas Express reported that Krispy Kreme is teaming up with McDonald’s to eventually offer its desserts at Golden Arches across the country. While McDonald’s is already selling Krispy Kreme menu items in a test program in 160 locations in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, expansion to other U.S. locations will commence later this year, with a full rollout targeted by the end of 2026.
