If spending the day in the kitchen cooking and cleaning is not your idea of a fun way to spend Christmas, there are plenty of restaurants in the area that will be open to feed your crew.

Here is just a sampling of establishments that will be open for business on December 25:

Buca di Beppo is the place to go for “classic Italian family-style meals served in a fun, eclectic setting,” especially if you are feeding a large group. All dishes are made in larger portion sizes and are meant to be shared among everyone at the table. Chopped Antipasta Salad, Apple Gorgonzola Salad, Meatball Rollato Pizza, Salmon Sorrento, Chicken Saltimbocca, Ravioli with Meat Sauce, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Spaghetti Marinara are just of few of the favorites you will find there.

Buca di Beppo has locations in Frisco, Dallas, and Southlake and will be open on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you haven’t yet experienced a teppanyaki-prepared meal, December 25 is as good a day as any to do so. Be prepared to be entertained and amazed by the intricate knife work and theatrics of the highly-trained chef who will prepare your feast before your eyes on a steel teppanyaki grill at Benihana. Steak, seafood, chicken, sushi, vegetarian, vegan, keto, and gluten-sensitive options are all on the menu, so there is something for everyone.

The restaurant will be open Monday during its usual business hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Happy Hour from 3 to 6 p.m., at all four locations in the metroplex — Dallas, Plano, Southlake, and Addison. Reservations are recommended.

Most Denny’s and Waffle House locations — and there are quite a few of them — are open 24/7, so whether you are hankering for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a slice of pie and a cup of coffee, you’re likely to find something to suit you at one of these establishments.

Red Lobster will be open on Christmas Day, so that might be a good time to check out the chain’s “Lobster and Shrimp Celebration” that is currently on the menu. The “Lobster & Shrimp Seasonal Feast” includes tender Maine tail meat and shrimp in an orange-rosemary holiday sauce, mashed potatoes, Cheddar Bay stuffing, and your choice of one additional side. Some locations are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 25, and others have opted to open from 3 to 10 p.m., so check your local Red Lobster restaurant for its business hours before heading out.

Holiday diners are invited to enjoy Christmas at The Rustic in Uptown Dallas from 5 to 9 p.m., where they can “spread cheer [and] drink beer.” The menu will feature tamales, queso, and beer from their “beer tree.” Reservations are recommended.

Seriously, any day is a good day for pizza, so why not stop in at Serious Pizza on Christmas Day for a giant slice of a New York-style pie? Of course, you can order your pizza for takeout, but the restaurant’s largest size 30-inch pie will barely fit in your trunk, they claim, so you might as well eat in and soak up the vibe while watching the professional dough throwers in action. Serious Pizza has a location in Deep Ellum in Dallas and one in Fort Worth and is open from 2 p.m. until midnight on December 25.

With locations in Dallas, Addison, and Grand Prairie, Vidorra will be serving up fine Mexican food to metroplex diners from 2 p.m. to midnight on Christmas Day. Though no special menu is planned for the holiday, the restaurant’s regular menu is pretty special already, with sizzling molcajete bowls, street tacos, enchiladas, and more. And, lucky you, Christmas coincides with Margarita Monday, with half-priced margaritas all day!
