Flying can be a drag, especially during the holiday season. Long lines, crowds of people, and trying to keep your kids occupied during a layover is enough to send you over the edge. Well, now you can kick back and relax because the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is receiving a Luxe Lounge by Capital One.

Capital One has opened its first of three Luxe Airport Lounges at DFW International Airport. The 10,000 square-foot lounge located in Terminal D offers relaxation, healthy food choices, and a place, especially for families.

The Luxe Lounge has everything a traveler could want, from complimentary food and drinks, craft cocktails, free high-speed Wi-Fi, multi-faith prayer rooms, and sleeping pods. If you want to spend your layover getting a quick workout in, there are Peloton bikes and a yoga room where you can work up a sweat before hitting the shower suite.

You may be wondering, “when did Capital One get into airport lounges?” For years, the company has been perfecting its travel options for customers by investing in travel tech firms and working with top-rated mileage reward partners.

The financial company took it a step further by talking to their customers who travel often and learning their needs.

“One of the things we’ve heard a lot is most traditional lounges can be like a little bit stuffy, a little old school,” Claire Deichmann, Capital One’s director of lounge strategy and growth, told Dallas Innovates. “We wanted to make it feel more modern and refreshing in terms of our design aesthetic.”

Capital One also paid attention to the short time most customers have while traveling. The lounge is outfitted with quick pre-plated food options that are healthy, like pita bread, hummus, and fresh salads that people can grab on the go.

For the traveler with a bit more time, there are zero-gravity sleep pods that feel like you are in a spaceship. The top of the pod is lit like the night sky, and a shield covers your face, so there is privacy. Each pod comes equipped with an eye mask and soundscapes for you to drift off to.

The lounge area provides several different types of seating for work or lounging, the red chairs swaddle you, while the stools are perfect for younger travelers.

With all the comfort and relaxation the Capital One Luxe Lounge brings, you will also be immersed in the culture of Dallas-Fort Worth with fifty-five commissioned art pieces from local artists that adorn the space.

Capital One Venture X cardholders receive the perk of two complimentary visits to the lounge per year; any additional visits are at the discounted rate of forty-five dollars. All other passengers with boarding passes can access the lounge for sixty-five dollars.

Capital One plans on adding its Luxe Lounges to other airports across the country, including Denver International Airport and Dulles outside of Washington, D.C., arriving in 2022. It is safe to say DFW International Airport’s new Luxe Lounge will take the stress out of flying.
