Update to original story – 12:58 pm, 02/18/26: Coppell ISD officials received notification of a potential threat at the high school around 8:20 a.m. The school immediately delayed its opening and evacuated students and staff already on campus. Coppell police conducted a comprehensive sweep of the building while students were transported to an off-site reunification center. The campus will remain closed for the entire day. Another threat was made against Duncanville High School, but authorities quickly determined it was a hoax. Police have not released details about the nature of the threats or whether the incidents are connected. Investigators continue monitoring area campuses as a precaution.

Multiple Texas high schools faced disruptions on Wednesday after receiving bomb threats, prompting evacuations, cancellations, and law enforcement sweeps, though no credible dangers were immediately found.

In Anna, classes at Anna High School were called off for the day following a phoned-in threat early in the morning. District officials said they are collaborating with local police for a comprehensive building search, with the closure limited to that campus. Other Anna ISD schools continued normal operations.

Authorities have not disclosed specifics about the threat or any potential suspects, and it’s unknown when the high school might resume activities.

Separately, Boerne High School was evacuated before classes began due to a threatening message on a phone line warning of several bombs on campus. Boerne police reported that students had not yet arrived, but staff and a few early arrivals were safely evacuated while officers from various agencies responded.

An FBI bomb technician and the San Antonio Police Department Bomb Unit conducted a full inspection of all buildings. By 8:45 a.m., the site was cleared, with no credible threat identified. Extra Boerne officers stayed on the grounds as a precaution.

In the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, Steele High School also canceled classes after a voicemail bomb threat. The district evacuated the building out of caution to enable a detailed law enforcement examination.

Students already on site were allowed to pick up there, while those on buses were sent to Samuel Clemens High School for retrieval. No other district campuses were affected.

“This morning, Steele High School received a voicemail making a bomb threat. Out of an abundance of caution, the campus was evacuated and school was cancelled for the day to allow law enforcement to conduct a thorough sweep of the building. Students and staff who were on campus were safely evacuated, and those en route on a bus were redirected for pickup from Samuel Clemens High School,” the district stated in a letter, KSAT reported. “We are working closely with local law enforcement. At this time, no other SCUC campuses are impacted, and all other schools are operating on their regular schedule.”
