Here’s your crime report for the weekend.

Homicide on Chapel Creek Drive:

Two people were shot and one killed as officers responded to a shooting call Friday night, April 14.

Dallas Police responded to the call at about 9:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of Chapel Creek Drive, located in District 6, represented by Dallas City Council Member Omar Narvaez.

When officers arrived, they found two people shot at the location. One person died at the scene, according to police.

The other person was taken to a local hospital, but police did not release the condition of the second victim.

Police do not have a suspect in custody.

The crime investigation is ongoing.

Evening Shooting on Norwalk Avenue:

Dallas Police are also investigating a shooting that took place Friday evening at about 7:10 p.m.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 3100 block of Norwalk Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an unknown suspect had shot a gun in the direction of a person’s home.

Dallas Police did not report any injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Machete-Wielding Man Stabs Two:

Dallas Police are searching for a suspect after two people were attacked by someone with a machete.

The incident happened Friday night at about 10:30 p.m.

Officers responded to a stabbing call at the 11200 block of North Central Expressway.

When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a man and woman were assaulted by an unknown suspect with a machete.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

Police do not have a suspect in custody and the crime investigation is ongoing.

Man Killed on Riverfront Boulevard:

Dallas Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning, April 15, at about 2:15 a.m.

Officers responded to a shooting call at the 1400 block of N. Riverfront Boulevard, located in District 6.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an unresponsive man lying partially in the road.

Police were able to determine at the scene that the man had been shot multiple times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police have not named a suspect at this time, and the crime investigation remains ongoing.

Dallas continues to battle violent crime. The total number of murders in the City of Dallas has reached 89, a roughly 25% increase in homicides compared to 2022.
