Two Prosper High School students have been charged in connection with the shooting death of a teenager on Friday, according to a news release by the Little Elm Police Department.

Officers were called to the scene of the shooting at a neighborhood playground near the 1600 block of Knight Trail at about 1 p.m. on February 3. They found an individual, later identified as 19-year-old David Noel Pleasant, who had been wounded, according to police.

The victim, a former Lone Star High School student, was transported to a local hospital, where he died the next day, according to the news release.

Police records indicate that witnesses claimed Pleasant had gone to the playground to purchase marijuana and mushrooms, as reported by Fox 4. Surveillance video shows that Pleasant walked up to a gray Volkswagen, and he is then seen running away from the vehicle a few moments later.

The driver is then seen getting out of the vehicle and firing at Pleasant, shooting him in the back of the head, according to Fox 4.

Police were able to identify one of the suspects as allegedly being 17-year-old Mason Schiller through information obtained from the video and an Instagram account used to set up the alleged drug deal.

Later that same evening, police located the Volkswagen outside a home in Prosper and observed the suspect getting into a black truck. Police attempted to stop the truck, but the driver sped off with the officers in pursuit.

The black truck subsequently crashed, and the two occupants got out and fled but were soon captured by police. The second occupant of the truck was said by police to be 17-year-old Alec Adamson.

The pair allegedly admitted to attempting to sell drugs to the victim and claimed that Pleasant began hitting them, according to court records. They said that is why Adamson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Pleasant.

Both Adamson and Schiller have been charged with murder and are being held on a $1 million bond.

The Dallas Express contacted the Little Elm Police Department for additional information and comment on the incident but did not hear back by the time of publication.

The Dallas Express also reached out to Frisco ISD and Prosper ISD for comment, but neither responded.
