A Plano police officer was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault against his girlfriend late last month, the Wylie Police Department told The Dallas Express.

Wylie police said officers responded to the 800 block of Ann Drive around 4:30 p.m. on May 22 for an apparent domestic assault call.

The caller told police she was engaged in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, which became physical.

Officers interviewed both parties and ultimately arrested 30-year-old Zachary Petty on family violence charges.

Investigators conducted a follow-up investigation and were granted an arrest warrant on May 25 for continuous violence against family members.

Petty turned himself into a regional jail and has since been released.

Wylie PD is continuing to investigate this incident.

The Dallas Express reached out to Plano police to obtain an update on Petty’s status, but they were not immediately available for comment.
