A Texas woman on the “Top 10 Most Wanted” list in Collin County was arrested this week after more than 13 years on the run.

Susan O’Connor, 54, was pulled over by Missouri State Highway Patrol for speeding on October 28 and was found to be wanted by the police in Collin County for allegedly fleeing Texas in 2009 with her three-year-old son, William Jack Spencer, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.

O’Connor, who was not the custodial parent, allegedly abducted Spencer on May 19, 2009, from Blue Ridge, Texas, in Collin County.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reported that 63% of all AMBER alerts in 2020 were issued for family abduction cases, meaning when a child is wrongfully retained or concealed by a family member from parents or custodians, as is allegedly the case with Spencer.

The child is now 17 years old and has been reunited with his father, officials say.

O’Connor was charged with Interference with Child Custody. She was extradited to Collin County after a fingerprint confirmation.

She is being held at the Collin County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond. If convicted, she could face jail time.
