Garrett Hamilton, 29, is accused of perpetrating an eight-day crime spree, resulting in three countsĀ of aggravated robbery and charges for two homicides, one in Dallas and the other in Cedar Hill.

The first murder Hamilton is accused of committing was the killing of Clarence Howard, 48. On October 25 at 5 a.m., police found Howard’s body lying outside Oak Cliff apartments in block 3200 of S. Vernon Avenue. At the time of the incident, no arrests were made.

The second murder occurred at an intersection of Bear Creek Road and South Duncanville Road in Cedar Hill on Wednesday, November 2. Police claim Hamilton shot and killed a motorcyclist named Lorenz Nussbaum, 47.

Witnesses told police officers that an unknown man exited his vehicle before shooting Nussbaum and driving off.

Between Nussbaum’s murder and Hamilton’s arrest on November 5, Hamilton allegedly conducted three aggravated robberies ā€” two in North Oak Cliff on November 2 and one at an ATM in Pleasant Grove on November 4.

Police finally caught Hamilton while conducting a traffic stop. Allegedly, Hamilton was driving a stolen vehicle.

While Hamilton was in custody, Dallas police ran his firearm through the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms database.

The search received a hit and connected Hamilton’s gun with the casings found at theĀ Oak Cliff homicide scene. Subsequently, Dallas PD contacted Cedar Hill detectives.

Police have yet to establish a motive for either murder. However, they believe Hamilton specifically targeted Nussbaum.

Hamilton is being held in the Dallas County jail on a combined bond of roughly $2 million.

Let’s see if Cruezot chooses to prosecute this one. Maybe put a paper clip on the file or something that should he ever come up for parole the city should consider sending a representative to the state parole board hearing.
