The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting that left three individuals injured early Saturday morning.

The shooting incident took place in the 3800 block of Sidney Street at around 1:34 a.m. on June 17.

Upon receiving the call, officers responded to the scene. According to preliminary investigations, three victims had sustained gunshot wounds.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

One of the victims is reported to be in critical condition, while the condition of the other two victims has not been disclosed at this time.

No suspects have been taken into custody, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers are working to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

As the investigation progresses, updates will be provided to the public.

Anyone with relevant information regarding the shooting is encouraged to contact the Dallas Police Department or utilize the anonymous tip line.

The shooting incident took place in Dallas City Council Member Adam Bazaldua‘s District 7. Bazaldua was runner-up for May’s Crime Boss for his year-over-year Crime Score increase in April.

Bazaldua saw a 10.2% Crime Score bump based on the downloadable crime data set made available by the City.

Dallas police officers continue to fight crime amidst a shortfall of officers. The department is presently some 400-500 officers short of what is needed, according to Mike Mata, president of the Dallas Police Association.

In the nearby City of Fort Worth, private security supplements its police force and patrols its downtown area.

The City of Dallas has been unable to provide reliable crime statistics, allegedly due to a ransomware attack, which is still causing a “service outage.”

However, available data from the Dallas crime analytics overview dashboard shows that 3,078 reports of aggravated assault were documented year-to-date through the end of April.
