Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of two men at a Far North Dallas apartment complex in March, with one of them also facing a murder charge in a separate June homicide, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Erving Estrada, 17, and Latavien Clark, 19, were arrested on June 24 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force. Both are charged with capital murder in the March 15 shooting deaths of 21-year-old Madreus Ward and 20-year-old Ethan Dillard.
Both suspects are being held without bond in the Dallas County Jail.
Double Homicide on Audelia Road
Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting around 9:45 p.m. on March 15 at an apartment complex in the 12100 block of Audelia Road.
When officers arrived, they found Ward and Dillard inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced both men dead at the scene.
According to an arrest affidavit for Estrada, witnesses told investigators that Estrada and Clark—known by the nicknames “Bando” and “Gen5,” respectively—had been inside the vehicle with the victims shortly before the shooting. Witnesses also told police the pair frequently spent time in the area where the killings occurred.
Investigators processed the vehicle for evidence and recovered fingerprints that were later matched to both suspects, according to the affidavit.
Police have not announced a motive in the March killings.
Estrada Also Charged in June Killing
In addition to the capital murder charge, Estrada has been charged with murder in the June 16 shooting death of 35-year-old Ronnika Davenport.
According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the 9800 block of Walnut Street and found Davenport suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
Investigators said Davenport was an unintended victim during a shooting allegedly targeting another individual.
According to police, a witness told detectives that the suspect, identified by the nickname “Bando,” opened fire after accusing the intended target of mocking a deceased friend on social media. Davenport was struck during the gunfire.
Firearm Allegedly Linked to Multiple Shootings
Detectives said they identified Estrada through photographs showing a white Dodge Charger at the Walnut Street crime scene.
When Estrada was arrested on June 24, investigators recovered a handgun they allege matched shell casings collected from the June 16 shooting.
Police also said ballistic testing linked the same firearm to a separate shooting that occurred on March 13, leading investigators to believe Estrada was present during that incident as well.
No charges related to the March 13 shooting have been announced.
