A robbery by gunpoint on Monday afternoon led Dallas police on a high-speed car chase that ended when the suspects crashed into a car parked by a gas station fuel pump then fled on foot.

Two 17-year-olds were arrested for the alleged robbery incident on July 18.

Dallas PD officers received a report of an aggravated robbery in the 13000 block of Montfort Drive near Interstate 635 at about 1 p.m. on Monday, according to the DPD Beat. The adult victim of the gunpoint robbery in an apartment parking lot told responding officers that the suspects fled the scene in a silver Toyota sedan.

Dallas PD’s Northeast Patrol officers located the sedan traveling east on Park Lane at Ridgecrest Road in Vickery Meadow. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and evaded arrest.

Dallas police released surveillance footage that showed the sedan speeding north on Abrams before striking another vehicle in the intersection and plowing through bushes outside a gas station.

The sedan finally came to a halt after it crashed into a car parked by a fuel pump at the gas station on Abrams Road and Royal Lane in Lake Highlands.

Two people exited the vehicle and fled, but one of them — the passenger — was stopped with the aid of two witnesses, whom police described as “good Samaritans.” Officers from the patrol unit took custody of the suspect.

Dallas police said Air One responded and located the driver in an adjacent apartment complex, where officers arrested him.

Authorities identified the suspects as Giovanni Martinez-Castro, 17, and Abraham Leone, 17.

Martinez-Castro has been charged with aggravated robbery of an individual, evading arrest in a vehicle, and failure to leave ID at the scene of an accident. Leone has been charged with aggravated robbery of an individual and evading arrest on foot.

Police executed a search warrant on the sedan and reportedly found two handguns, two black ski masks, and money.

Further investigation showed the two suspects were allegedly involved in at least 10 aggravated robberies. Suspects in a silver Toyota sedan had demanded property from victims across the North Dallas area in June and July.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing. It is unclear whether the suspects have retained attorneys.
