A video obtained by conservative radio host Dana Loesch shows a recent recording of a conversation that allegedly took place last week inside Colleyville Middle School.

The recording was reportedly sent to Loesch “by a family of the school who asked to not be identified at this time.”

Three adults are seen in the video and are unaware they are being filmed. One of the adults in the video is eighth-grade social studies teacher Lisa Grimes. In the recording, she says conservative Christians “need to get COVID and die.”

The topic of the conversation appears to have been centered on the COVID-19 vaccine. Grimes said she believes the political opposition to the COVID vaccine prolonged the pandemic.

“We’re vaccinating like the flu…which is, you know…get the flu vaccine if you want, but … ‘Don’t tread on me,’” Grimes says in the video. “But it’s too late — it would have had to have been immediate. If we would have done it immediately, it’d already be gone — that’s what’s frustrating.”

“The rest of my life is impacted because of politics? Because of conservative Christian crap?” Grimes continues. “I’m telling you, those conservative Christians…they need to die…they need to get COVID and die.”

Grimes was recognized in a Facebook post from February 2021 by Colleyville Middle School as the teacher of the month and “an amazing teacher.”

Colleyville Middle School sent out a school-wide email on February 23 addressing Grimes’s comments. The school also posted the statement on Facebook. According to the statement, Grimes has been placed on administrative leave.

“This afternoon, GCISD learned about an online video of a Colleyville Middle School teacher talking to two colleagues in a high-traffic area on campus,” the statement reads. “The sentiments expressed in the video do not reflect the views of GCISD or Colleyville Middle School. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave. The District will continue to investigate this incident.”
