A 42-year-old woman from Fort Worth has been sentenced for participating in the 2019 tasing and robbery of a 71-year-old woman.

According to Arlington Police, Traci Cahill was sentenced to 30 years for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Officials say she pleaded not guilty.

Officers say Cahill and 22-year-old Nakayla Katrice Wright approached the woman in the parking lot of a shopping center in Burleson on November 27, 2019. They tased the woman several times, stole her purse, and bought merchandise worth $360 with her credit card.

Wright, who pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, was initially sentenced to 17 years in prison in January 2021.

Authorities say Cahill was also charged with credit abuse of an elderly person, a third-degree felony.

A third person, Jason Simmons, who police believe was involved in the attack, awaits sentencing. His sentencing is scheduled for May 23.
