Hit-and-Run on Highway Leaves Woman Dead

Authorities announced a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened on the eastbound lanes of the freeway in Fort Worth on May 30.

According to Fort Worth police, a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle just before 3 a.m. on Interstate 30 at Eastchase Parkway. The victim was hit by several cars after initially being struck.

The highway was closed as officers investigated the scene. The investigation did not affect the day’s traffic as the road was reopened before 6:30 a.m.

Authorities said a person later went to Arlington Memorial Hospital asking for help. The person said they were hurt from the crash.

Upon investigation, officers determined that the person was the driver whose vehicle hit the woman. The person is in custody as police continue to investigate the incident.

The identities of the woman and the driver involved were not released. No further details have been made available.
