Families across the city are once again finding fresh, locally grown produce, pasture-raised meats, and handmade goods at Good Local Markets’ three producer-only farmers’ markets this season.

Good Local Markets, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, continues its producer-only farmers markets at three locations this season — White Rock, Fair Park, and Tietze Park — offering fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and handmade artisan items from vendors within a 150-mile radius of Dallas.

Good Local Markets began in 2009 as the White Rock Local Market in East Dallas. Founders sought to bring a neighborhood farmers’ market closer to residents rather than requiring travel across town. It has since expanded into a nonprofit organizing multiple markets, educational programs, and food access initiatives.

The group describes its mission as supporting local farmers and ranchers, incubating small businesses, increasing food access, strengthening the local economy, and cultivating healthy communities. All vendors must grow or make what they sell, with no resellers or distributors permitted.

White Rock Farmers Market partners with White Rock United Methodist Church. The Fair Park location operates in partnership with Dallas Park and Recreation at Leonhardt Lagoon, behind the Visitor Center and across from Cotton Bowl Stadium. Free parking is available through Gate 6. Good Local Markets secured Tietze Park for the latter portion of the season.

The organization states that proximity to farmers’ markets is associated with lower body mass index and that market visitors average 17 social interactions per visit. It also notes that 67% of its vendors depend on market sales for income, and that locally owned retailers like these markets return more than three times as much of their sales to the local economy as chain competitors do.

Markets feature a range of North Texas products, including seasonal produce, pasture-raised meats, eggs, honey, breads, pastries, pickles, jams, and artisan goods such as handmade furniture, jewelry, ceramics, and soaps.

Good Local Markets accepts SNAP/Lone Star benefits and WIC vouchers at all its locations and partners with Texas Health Community Hope for Double Up Food Bucks. WIC/FMNP matching is available through a partnership with Grow North Texas.

Vendor applications for 2026 remain open for unique, local growers and makers. Preference goes to those using natural products, with artisan items required to be completely handcrafted.

Organizers encourage visitors to check the group’s Facebook or Instagram for weekly vendor lists and any weather-related updates. A newsletter signup is also available on the official website.

The markets operate as producer-only venues, distinguishing them from markets that allow resold goods. This model directly connects consumers with North Texas farmers and makers, supporting diversified farmland use and rural economies.
