A fatal crash on R.L. Thornton Freeway near Dolphin road on Thursday, November 24, has left two people dead and two others hospitalized.

According to a report by The Dallas Morning News, Dallas County deputies were called to an overnight collision in Old East Dallas on the  R.L. Thornton Freeway’s eastbound lanes just after midnight.

Officials said responding deputies found two men at the scene standing outside a Chevrolet Tahoe that had flipped over on the exit ramp to Dolphin Road. A Toyota Camry that had suffered extensive damage at the back was in the left lane.

According to the Dallas County sheriff’s office, two women in the Toyota Camry, who officials say are 45 and 46-year-olds, were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The sheriff’s office did not identify both victims beyond information regarding their ages.

The sheriff’s office revealed that a third passenger in the Camry was transferred to a local hospital in critical condition. One of the men standing outside the Tahoe was also taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The identities of the injured victims were also not revealed.

According to the sheriff’s office, Travoris McFadden, 39, who was allegedly driving the Tahoe, faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.

According to a Fox 4 News report, investigators reported that McFadden was drunk and driving the Tahoe when he hit the Toyota Camry. However, the 39-year-old did not sustain any injury in the fatal crash.

MacFadden remained in the Dallas County Jail on Thursday, and his bond was set at $300,000. It is not clear if he has an attorney.
