Dallas Police Issue Alert for ‘Critical Missing Person’

Update: Mr. Smith has now been located and is safe.

In an alert posted on DPD Beat, the Dallas Police Department has announced that it is searching for an 81-year-old man. Officers are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the man whom they describe as a “Critical Missing Person.”

Police identified the missing person as Gerald Earl Smith. They say he was last seen last year on December 27 at 5300 Tioga Street in Dallas.

Smith is said to use a walker for standing support. He also possibly has mental disabilities and may be confused.

The 81-year-old is described as a white male with a height of about 5’10” and a weight of about 130 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes. Police did not give a description of his clothing.

The Dallas Police Department is urging anyone who knows the whereabouts of Smith to call 911 or reach out to the Dallas Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit via (214) 671-4268.
