After hours of negotiation, the Denton Police Department arrested a 39-year-old armed suspect who had barricaded himself in his home on February 22.

According to CBS 11 News, Denton Police Officers arrested Gabriel Temba in the 1000 block of Dallas Drive on a warrant for Assault Family Violence Impeding Breath.

Temba’s wife told police that her husband had strangled her. She also told officers that he had made suicidal as well as homicidal threats.

Officers who responded to the scene confirmed that they saw injuries on her neck and provided her with medical attention.

When officers arrived at the home to arrest the 39-year-old, they allegedly found him armed and barricaded in the house.

Denton PD Officers and Negotiator Teams began negotiating with Temba, who threatened to shoot anyone that entered his property.

After hours of negotiation, Temba surrendered himself at about 1:30 a.m. without incident and was taken into custody unharmed.
