A restaurant company that operates several brands in Fort Worth is planning to open another in the North Texas city next year.

Cowboy Prime expects to open sometime next year after completing a $2 million remodel in September of a 5,635-square-foot space at 128 E. Exchange St., Suite 570, in the Fort Worth Stockyards, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. Fort Worth-based Franz Architects is listed as the design firm.

In an email, a company spokesperson confirmed Cowboy Prime is opening its second location in Fort Worth. The other is in Midland.

The menu features 24K Gold Tomahawk Ribeye, Canadian Lobster Tail, KC prime New York Strip, New Zealand Lamb Rack, Butter Poached Lobster, Dry-Aged Prime Burger, Roasted Organic Chicken, Ora King Salmon, and much more.

Cowboy Prime is one of nine brands owned by Chef Felipe Armenta‘s Far Out Hospitality of Midland. Pacific Table, Maria’s — named for Armenta’s mother — F1 Smokehouse, Tavern, Press Cafe, Towne Grill, and Le Margot have restaurants in Fort Worth. Far Out’s other brand is The Grill in San Angelo.

“People are getting more and more educated on what real food is,” Armenta told the Midland Reporter-Telegram when he opened the Cowboy Prime location in Midland. “I’ve been out here 10 years now, so I know the market really well, and it just made sense to do something higher, elevated.”

At the Stockyards, Cowboy Prime will join a diverse lineup of restaurants, including Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, Second Rodeo Brewing Company, Trailboss Burgers, Rodeo Tacos, Hunter Brothers’ H3 Ranch, Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Billy Bob’s Texas Honky Tonk Kitchen, and Pollo Regio.
