The Tarrant County Republican Party has accused Democrat Tarrant County Commissioner Alisa Simmons of holding an unauthorized event scheduled at a polling site during early voting.
“It was recently brought to the Tarrant County Republican Party’s attention that Tarrant County Precinct 2 Commissioner Alisa Simmons has been promoting a ‘Halloween Fun Fest’ to be hosted at the Mansfield Sub-Courthouse from 5 pm to 7 pm on October 31st,” the Tarrant County Republican Party letter read.
“While the party would ordinarily have no issue with such an event, we are deeply concerned about the event’s location. As you know, the Mansfield Sub-Courthouse is one of the county’s busiest early voting locations,” continues the letter, posted on X by Tarrant County GOP (TCGOP) Chairman Bo French.
“In conclusion, the selection of the Mansfield Sub Courthouse as the site for Commissioner Simmons’ ‘fun fest’ seems unwise, at best, and calculated to influence or interfere with the election, at worse,” continues the letter.
The event flyer reads, “Enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, trick-or-treating, and a resource fair featuring county and community services!”
“As usual, Democrats don’t believe laws apply to them. @CommALSimmons is no different,” French posted on X.
The Dallas Express reached out to Simmons’ office but did not receive a response.
