Texas State Board of Education member Brandon Hall (R-District 11) is calling for an investigation into an Arlington ISD administrator after public social media posts showed the administrator’s past participation in drag performances.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, public social media posts identify newly appointed Arlington ISD administrator Rylee Russell-Bruton with the drag name “Fauxbia” and show past participation in Dallas-Fort Worth drag competitions and events.

Arlington ISD recently named Russell-Bruton interim assistant principal at Joey Rodriguez Junior High School. The district’s Facebook announcement also named Michael Ball as a new assistant principal at the campus and remained public as of publication.

Hall Calls For Investigation

“If this administrator is participating in drag performances, she should not be in a position of school leadership. Period,” Hall told The Dallas Express.

“The behavior that takes place at these events is completely inappropriate and falls well below the high standard of conduct that should be expected of those who are entrusted with children. There needs to be an investigation and accountability,” Hall said.

The Dallas Express reviewed the posts and found no evidence that Russell-Bruton involved students, appeared on school grounds, or connected the appearances to official Arlington ISD activities.

Campus Website Changes

As of publication, the Joey Rodriguez Junior High website did not list Russell-Bruton, Ball, or any assistant principals on its administration page. The page listed only Principal Jerod Zahn and the campus secretary.

It is unclear whether the campus website listing reflects any personnel change.

Arlington ISD’s original public announcement remained visible, and the district has not announced any personnel action involving Russell-Bruton.

The Dallas Express asked Arlington ISD whether the district has opened an investigation or made any changes regarding Russell-Bruton’s appointment but did not receive a response before publication.
