Public social media posts identify newly appointed Arlington ISD administrator Rylee Russell-Bruton, a biological female, with the drag name “Fauxbia” and show past participation in Dallas-Fort Worth drag competitions and events.

Russell-Bruton is listed as an interim assistant principal at Joey Rodriguez Junior High School. Arlington ISD announced Russell-Bruton, along with another new assistant principal, Michael Ball, in a public post about the district’s new leaders.

“At Joey Rodriguez Junior High School we’re excited to welcome two new assistant principals who bring deep experience and a shared commitment to student success,” Arlington ISD wrote. “Michael Ball brings more than a decade of instructional leadership and a strong record of supporting junior high learners. Alongside him, Rylee Russell-Bruton adds a rich background in student support, social studies education, and campus culture development that will further strengthen the Rodriguez community.”

Public Posts Identify ‘Fauxbia’

Public posts and event materials reviewed by The Dallas Express identify Russell-Bruton with the drag name “Fauxbia.”

“Faux queen” is a term for biological women performing drag.

A June 10, 2019, public Facebook post from The Urban Cowboy Saloon listed “Rylee Russell-Bruton aka Fauxbia” as a special guest judge for “The3 Battle of the Best.”

The venue describes itself on Facebook as “FtW’s Largest LGBTQ Nightclub.”

Other posts reviewed by The Dallas Express show Russell-Bruton’s participation in The Queer Off, a Dallas-area drag competition.

“I had the pleasure of competing with Rylee Russell-Bruton on The Queer Off and when I tell you she is the sweetest baby angel I mean it,” drag performer Sammi Nilla wrote in a June 7, 2023, public Facebook post. “So kind, genuine, down to earth and an ENTERTAINER! Her performances were all gag worthy.”

The Queer Off describes itself as “a live 12-week elimination style competition, showcasing the talents of the Dallas queer community.”

A Facebook post reviewed and archived by The Dallas Express listed Russell-Bruton among the “winners of The Queer Off.”

Another public Facebook post dated September 28, 2021, tagged Russell-Bruton at the Rose Room and included a photo showing Russell-Bruton in drag makeup.

Archived Post Also Lists Salem Moon

The same archived Facebook post also listed Salem Moon among the group of winners.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Salem Moon, the drag persona of Arthur Lee Walker, faced child-grooming allegations in 2025 that prompted Pride in Dallas and the 1851 Club in Arlington to sever ties with him.

Walker denied the allegations. Authorities had not announced any related criminal charges at the time of DX’s report, and The Dallas Express found no evidence in the reviewed posts linking Russell-Bruton to those allegations.

AISD Asked About Public-Post Policy

The Dallas Express found no evidence in the publicly reviewed posts that Russell-Bruton involved students, occurred on school grounds, or was tied to official Arlington ISD activities.

The Dallas Express asked Arlington ISD whether officials knew about the public posts before the appointment and whether district policy addresses employees’ public social media activity or off-duty public performances, including for campus administrators.

Neither responded by press time.
