Here is what happened on the field and behind the scenes.

Texas Rangers (7-4, first in American League West)

Last Game: Rangers 8, Kansas City Royals 5 (10 innings)

Catcher Jonah Heim’s three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Rangers their seventh win of the season. Texas took a two-run lead in the bottom of the seventh, but Kansas City tied the game with one out in the top of the ninth and took a one-run lead in the top of the 10th. Adolis Garcia singled home Marcus Semien to tie the game at five, and Heim followed a Josh Jung walk with a blast to right field off Royals’ closer Scott Barlow.

Noteworthy: Cole Ragans earned his second win of the year by getting the final two Kansas City outs in five pitches.
