A reported police chase that began with North Richland Hills officers ended in a fatal single-vehicle crash on southbound West Loop 820 in Fort Worth, according to a North Texas scanner account.
Scanner Traffic Fort Worth reported that a theft suspect fled from officers as they approached to detain him. The account said the pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle struck a guardrail at about 100 mph.
The crash happened on southbound West Loop 820, where lanes remained closed after the wreck, according to the post.
Video shared by the account appeared to show a nighttime highway scene with heavy emergency vehicle activity and flashing lights near the crash location.
No other vehicles were involved, according to the scanner account.
