Officials say the motorcyclist was driving between vehicles at a breakneck speed when he struck the back left bumper of a Ford Escape vehicle. The impact caused him to lose control of his motorcycle, leading to a fatal crash.

DPS officials said the motorcyclist died at the scene of the incident, but the driver and the passenger in the Ford Escape were not injured in the crash.

Officials also added that the crash caused massive traffic that caused the northbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike to be shut down on Sunday morning.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released as of Tuesday.
