The South Carolina 6-month search for a suspect in two homicides has finally come to a close for the Chester County Sheriff’s Office in Texas. Vangereil “Gerald” Dreteckes Miller was found over 1,000 miles outside of the county, in northern Texas.
Miller was accused of shooting five people, two of whom died in March of 2022. The incident occurred on Powell Drive on March 6, when Miller allegedly opened fire, hospitalizing all the victims, and killing two, Kevin Feaster and Shonta Nealy. He was then declared armed and dangerous, and the sheriff’s office offered a $10,000 reward for him being returned to custody.
The FBI joined two months into the search. This is not the only time Miller has been wanted by the law. In February 2020, he was accused of shooting into a woman’s car, injuring her foot. Miller has charges for unlawfully carrying a weapon that dates back to 2014. He also has pending charges relating to weapon possession, malicious injury, and assault.
Last Wednesday, August 31, Miller was found and taken into custody in Fort Worth. He now faces two murder charges in South Carolina along with possession of a weapon by a violent felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.       Â
Why was he on the street in March of 2022 to begin with. With all of his previous charges he should have been in prison.
