A man has died after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, according to the Arlington Police Department.

The three people involved in the three-vehicle pileup were all sent to the hospital, police said.

The crash, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 near Carter St., involved a 1997 GMC Yukon, a 2003 Toyota Avalon, and a 2020 GMC Sierra, according to police.

The man driving the Yukon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

Investigators believe the Yukon rear-ended the Avalon, which caused the Yukon to hit the median and roll on its side.

The Sierra followed behind both vehicles and could not swerve out of the way, hitting the Yukon, according to police.

All three people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The man in the Yukon died from his injuries, while the two other drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

However, while the driver of the Avalon was in the hospital, Arlington police learned that there were outstanding warrants for his arrest, according to CBS News.

After the driver of the Avalon was released from the hospital, Arlington police took him into custody.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased driver of the Yukon as 30-year-old Lavarius Davis, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The Dallas Express contacted the Arlington Police Department for additional information and comment, but no comment was provided by the time of publication.
