A local nativity scene display is once again whole now that its principal member is back. Fort Worth police confirmed that the stolen baby Jesus statuette taken from the Sundance Square nativity scene has been returned, reported NBC 5.

The stolen baby Jesus statuette has now been reunited with Mary, Joseph, and the three kings, just in time for Christmas.

The Dallas Express previously reported on the theft of the baby Jesus, which was taken last Saturday around 2 a.m.

Fort Worth police said the suspects involved in the theft of the baby Jesus figurine were identified, and the display piece was returned to its owner. No arrests have been made.

Investigators said they were in the process of determining how much the baby Jesus statuette is worth. Its money value could affect the potential charges against the alleged thieves.

“Fort Worth police department did a great job,” Sundance Square Security Director Zach Murphy told Fox 4. “And he’s already back here with us. Before Christmas, might I add?”

This brazen theft out of downtown Fort Worth’s entertainment district echoes the rampant theft and vandalism plaguing downtown Dallas in recent months, especially in City Councilman Jesse Moreno’s District 2, as previously reported in The Dallas Express.

Surveillance footage showed a man running up to the nativity scene and swiping the baby Jesus before disappearing down a set of stairs.

Another person could be seen holding the statuette, which indicated that this was a team effort.

A video of the incident posted by the Fort Worth police garnered thousands of shares.

“Not a very WISE MAN to steal from the nativity scene in Sundance Square,” the police tweeted, commenting on the video footage.

Fort Worth police told Fox News that the investigation is still open, and the suspects could face theft charges.
