Texas Governor Abbott announced Tuesday that he is invoking the Invasion Clauses of the U.S. and Texas Constitutions in his latest effort to increase security along the Texas-Mexico border.

In a tweet, Abbott said the move would “fully authorize Texas to take unprecedented measures to defend our state against an invasion.”

While always very vocal about the need to take further steps to protect the Texas-Mexico border, in the past, Abbott had previously stopped short of calling the situation at the border an invasion, according to Fox 4 News.

Governor Abbott went on to list the actions to be taken:

  • Deploying the National Guard to the border and turning back immigrants trying to cross illegally
  • Sending DPS to the border to arrest and return people who crossed the border illegally
  • Build a border wall in multiple counties
  • Deploy gunboats to secure the border
  • Designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations
  • Enter into an agreement with other states to secure the border
  • Enter into agreements with foreign governments to enhance border security
  • Provide resources for border counties to increase their efforts to respond to the border invasion

In July, Abbott invoked Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, also known as the “Invasion Clause.” He gave Texas state law enforcement the power to arrest unlawful migrants and drop them at ports of entry.

The Invasion Clause holds that the federal government “shall guarantee every State in this Union a Republican form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion.”

Border security was a top issue in Governor Abbott’s re-election campaign, which proved successful against Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

“Texans have demanded a more secure border,” he said during his victory speech after winning reelection by 11 points. “Where, and if, Congress falls short, Texas must continue our unprecedented efforts to secure our border.”

In a follow-up tweet, Abbott said Texas will continue to do more than any other state in history to secure its borders. This has most recently included busing 28 migrants to Philadelphia from Del Rio, Texas, as The Dallas Express reported.

Unlawful migration has been at an all-time high during the Biden administration, and the Department of Homeland Security numbers shows that for the fiscal year ending in September, 2.4 million unlawful migrants were detained at the border, a 37% increase year-over-year.

Abbott is not like desantis. Desantis gets it done quickly and Abbott puts his finger in the wind and acts 2 years later. Texas could do better.

The main issue is, why is the Biden administration ignoring and denying this invasion? It is the job of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to protect our borders. They just want to suck the money out of the southern states, besides slipping illegal voters into the country. And you might want to consider the fact that FLORIDA DOES NOT ABUT THE MEXICAN BORDER, therefore they do not have the problem Texas has. Look at a map of the country. Florida is only surrounded by water and bordering U.S. states. Please stop comparing apples and oranges.

By far, the majority of people streaming up from Central and South America are presenting themselves to border control for asylum. This is LEGAL IMMIGRATION according to our current laws. If you want to blame someone, blame Congress (Both parties) for kicking the can down the road and not fixing the problem. If we funded immigration courts the way we should, immigrants wouldn’t be staying here four and five years for their court case to come up. By then, they’ve already fathered a couple of kids who have birthright citizenship. It’s a complicated problem that Republicans love to demagog to fire up their base, but they NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT when they’re in power!

Thank you for presenting the facts. You are so right. Republicans want to score political points, avoid responsibility, and play the blame game. The immigration courts have been overwhelmed because of lack of funding during the Trump administration. They hide the ball behind their back, then complain about the game being delayed.

Because the dems want misery in the country. You never hear them say anything about concern about drug use or what they’re going to do about it. Remember the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life”? Think about when he wasn’t born and the town became “Pottersville”. Now think, “Pelosiville”

Biden does not want to spend money rejecting 2024 voters as he plans to use that money to provide them “all for free” aka vote buying

There is a certain irony in the greatest country in the world with the mightiest military the worlds ever seen, falling because everyone was so busy bickering about which was better, liberals or conservatives, no one stopped to think that anyone who’s made a fortune as a public servant most likely didn’t do a single solitary act in the best interest of anyone beyond themselves and their families.
The reason we aren’t seeing a resolution to the invasion that’s occurring is because those that are behind the invasion own our politicians, most of our news media, and are taking over our judicial system. The cartels are multi-billion dollar world wide corporations with more resources than Amazon could ever dream of and they’ll continue to get stronger and stronger because they’ve got zero regulation, they don’t pay taxes, and they don’t have to follow an ethical path when they’re doing business. They’ve grown so strong and so diverse that they were the only industry in the world that wasn’t effected by COVID and not only didn’t have their logistics operations compromised, but they actually became more effective at distribution. This country’s open border policy is in existence for one reason only, despite what the American people are lead to believe and it’s not for votes I assure you. The border remains open and will remain open because our politicians are becoming wealthy beyond imagination leaving our border open, because an open border = an endless supply of poisonous drugs, an addicted population that can be controlled easy, human beings enslaved and sold like animals, and a 2-3% population who want to live like gods on the misery of the remaining population.
Don’t believe me? Think about the influence of Amazon and multiply it x’s 1000 and then factor in the absence of morality and ask yourself if you know any politicians who’ve amassed a fortune doing nothing but holding political offices.

It’s also more people that have invaded than we have serving in our armed forces and all of them with zero effort expended to become a citizen which amounts to zero loyalty.

The interesting part is that anyone who interferes with TX exercising its rights against an invasion is committing TREASON by definition. I hope that TX has its own law against TREASON instead of only the FED.
